[Print-friendly version]

As part of a comprehensive upgrade to the swipe card readers in QUT’s physical security system, all staff and continuing students will need a new ID card to access QUT buildings. Students completing their studies in 2008 do not need the new card.

Building access upgrades will be completed from mid-November. To find out when access to your building will change check the upgrade schedule.

Ensure you have a new ID card so you don't get locked out!

Please note:

  • Cards will be reprinted with your current photo, unless another photo is required.
  • Cards will be replaced at no cost on presentation of your current student/staff ID card. If your card is lost you will need to pay $15 to the cashier to obtain a replacement.
  • Holes punched in the new cards will damage the card, and a replacement fee will be charged if the card is damaged.

Where to get new ID card

New ID cards can be obtained from any QUT Student Centre.

If you are unable to visit a Student Centre during opening hours please contact Student Information Services Coordinator Melita Cheetham.

Building and parking access with your new card

  • Your current building access will be transferred to your replacement card.
  • In most cases any current parking access will be transferred to your replacement card.
    • However, if your card is re-issued with a new cardax number please contact parking to confirm your access. Allow at least one hour after receiving your new card before contacting parking.
    • Student Centre staff will advise if this applies to you.

When to get new ID card

Students and staff can replace their cards during Student Centre opening hours.

Domestic students with an active enrolment program for 2009 can obtain ID cards after 12th January 2009.

Students enrolled in a summer 2008/2009 unit can obtain ID cards now.
